Create and justify a planned animation

M3Optimise the content for use in the final animation

I exported the animation in a .Mov format as this version has the best quality. And looks to a high standard however it is not what was asked for as it is only viewable on apple macs which is restricting to the audience who will see the promotional video

I exported the animation in a mp4 format. This is overall a good way to export the animation as it can be seen by a larger audiance as it can be opened on multiple different platforms this is a positive as more people will see the animation apreading the word of the zombie fest march happening. Another positive is it can be uploaded to youtube and use their platform to reach the audience.

When i made my animation for the brain goo event i made sure to not use bitmap images. Instead I used JPEG's. The reason i did this is they take up less space. They also mean they can create a higher quality image. because i made a smaller version for smartphones this will mean the graphics are able to fit into this format this is in line with the brief as it can be accessed on multiple devices.

D2Justify the choice of animation technique for the frame rate and duration

I used stop motion as my choice of technique to create my animation. I chose this as it used resources i had available and creates a lighthearted feel meaning it would be attractive to multiple different audiences keeping in line with the breif. I used paper characters  this allowed me to create a horror theme for the fans of horror and keep it childish for the younger audience by using a good mix of characters which entice both audiances without pushing the other away.

Another reason i used this technique is i had the resources available to create a stop motion animation within the time frame set by the breif. I was able to create the animation i had envisioned by using stop motion as it allowed me to plan out and create scenes for practise allowing the final product to be of a high standard.

The frames per second on my animation is 23.98 as it creates a smooth feel making the movements look natural. It is not to fast but neither to slow allowing the audience to be emersed in the animation created for the event. My animation is 42 seconds this is the perfect time as it is just under a minute meaning it wont drag on or be to short keping the audiance entertained and taking on the messages being conveyed though the advertisement.

Debug chart:

The target audiance for my animation is children aged 10-17 and horror enthusiasts aged 20-40, it is targeting both genders from the middle class sect of society. The majority is from the white ethnicity this is the demographic that are most likely to be actively involved in the event by dressing up and making apperances. I must make sure to uphold the horror theme while not scaring away the secondary audience of the children but keeping both of them engaged. When lookign over the target audiance i belive i have created my animation to be perfect for both of them. such as the jump scare at the end for the horror and the style of animation from the younger audiance. It is accesable to all of the audiance on multiple different platforms.

I did user tests where i asked questions and gained valuable information on all aspects of the animation. i received feedback from 3 people who gave me a good insght to the animation. they gave me information on the characters, lighting and sound, their answers told me the lighting was good but could be adjusted a bit however the sound and characters fit into the animation very well and meets the standards of the target audience. This showed me the animation was a success

the animation fits the purpose set out by the brief to advertise the zombiefest march/event as it targets the right audience demographics. The main focus was to show a zombie attack on central London to add a theatrical side to the event. At the end it states clearly the purpose of the animation showing all of the information of the event selling it to the audience therefore it fits the purpose set out by the blog
